The duality of winters🍂
The duality of winters...
One one hand, the privilege of romanticizing the nip in the air,
And the warmth of the winter sun...
One the other hand, the sheer ruthlessness of the ice cold dusk air,
Ripping through your skin, your veins, right through your bones..
The seething chill mercilessly numbing every inch of your face,
Coursing right through your eyeballs, into your being,
Clasping your heart with its merciless ice-hold grip,
Stripping your heart slowly but steadily, of the last ounce of warmth left...
Numb, dark, frozen, cold - beyond comprehension, beyond repair...
That's what the abyss of despair, hopelessness feels like...
Yeah, its cliche, but then, spring is around the corner...
And it's always a matter of time, for the winter has to pass...
It's always a matter of showing up, with the whole of your heart, every single time,
It's always a matter of rising, again and again and again,
To be ready to step up, in every season and time...
For like my favorite Albert Camus quote,
“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy.
For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me,
Within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.”
